چکیده

This paper describes an adaptive method for the recovery of 3-D shape models from sequences of images. A 3-D surface model, initialised to be spherical, is progressively deformed under the action of simulated external forces arising from the proole of the target object in successive images, obtained using a low-level motion segmentation scheme. Intrinsic constraints encourage the model to deform smoothly and to remain symmetrical about a plane parallel to the direction of motion. Experimental results are presented for recovery of shape models of vehicles. The resulting models may be used for several purposes, including tracking, recognition and visualisation.

Computation Optical Flow Using Pipeline Architecture

Accurate estimation of motion from time-varying imagery has been a popular problem in vision studies, This information can be used in segmentation, 3D motion and shape recovery, target tracking, and other problems in scene analysis and interpretation. We have presented a dynamic image model for estimating image motion from image sequences, and have shown how the solution can be obtained from a ...

Recovering Non-Rigid 3D Shape from Image Streams

This paper addresses the problem of recovering 3D non-rigid shape models from image sequences. For example, given a video recording of a talking person, we would like to estimate a 3D model of the lips and the full head and its internal modes of variation. Many solutions that recover 3D shape from 2D image sequences have been proposed; these so-called structure-from-motion techniques usually as...

Linear and incremental acquisition of invariant shape models from image sequences

We show how to automatically acquire a Euclidean shape representations of objects from noisy image sequences under weak perspective. The proposed method is linear and incremental, requiring no more than pseudo-inverse. A nonlinear but numerically sound preprocessing stage is added to improve the accuracy of the results even further. Experiments show that attention to noise and computational tec...

Recovery of Piece-Wise Planar and Piece-Wise Rigid Models from Non-Rigid Motion

We present a framework for estimating 3D relative structure (shape) and motion given objects undergoing non-rigid deformation as observed from a fixed camera, under perspective projection. Deforming surfaces are approximated as piece-wise planar, and piece-wise rigid. Robust registration methods allow tracking of corresponding image patches from view to view and recovery of 3D shape despite occ...

Improved Face Model Fitting on Video Sequences

Active Appearance Models (AAMs) represent the shape and appearance of an object via two low-dimensional subspaces, one for shape and one for appearance. AAMs for facial images are currently receiving considerable attention from the computer vision community. However, most existing work focuses on fitting AAMs to a single image. For many applications, effectively fitting an AAM to video sequence...
